...against a team whose team was made up of girls with 'learning differences'
I don't really see what the guy did wrong. Surely learning difficulties don't stop someone being potentially good at sport anyway?
Although by all accounts this guy's a bit of an obnoxious arsehole. And it's usually the 'done thing' in kids sports to call an end to it early if it looks like one side might get humiliated. Which they do over here too. What's the use in humiliating school kids?
I guess the whole 'learning difficulties' thing just makes it a juicier story
If you took that away from them then I assume they'd all retire and become drill sergeants or prison guards.
I don't see how either of these would massively affect a teams ability to play basketball. So are they not just bad losers for getting such an epic arse-beating?
Also the reason they get creamed is their academy only has 20 pupils so they've not really got the numbers to find the best team from, I'd imagine.
That's wrong for a start. Jesus very much enjoyed dunking over fools. That's why people listened to him.
and more about the fact the headmaster of the winning team's school feels bad about the victory:
"It is shameful and an embarrassment that this happened. This clearly does not reflect a Christlike and honorable approach to competition."
Perhaps my Bible is missing the pages where the Sermon on the Mount takes a long digression into sporting ethics. To be honest, I reckon Our Lord would be an avid sports fan if he came back today. I don’t think he’d have a problem with a 100-0 drubbing as long as the game was fair.
[insert obligatory joke about “Jesus saves, but Gretzky scores on the rebound”]
