It's a brilliant film, one of my top 5 ever. Great soundtrack as well
well acted, well directed but I found the whole political point of it irritating. It's pretty much summed up in "The stupid things that you do because you think that poor is cool" line in Common People by Pulp but it's worse than that.
The fact that it got me so angry probably means it's a good film but the echoes of being brought to this country to flee a communist government, regardless of being four at the time, has made me incapable of liking idealistic tosh like this. And it came from Germany so they should know better.
but a bit sort of "yeah, like, society is so fucked you know, people don't act on impulse any more, you know? do you get it? like the bank manager is just as bad as the fast food worker yeah?"
despite their questionable morals. It turns interesting when they all start to turn on one another.
will report back how i felt about it's fukk da sistum ways later
ignore them fools ^^^ it's a good film regardless of whether you agree with the politics, and the girl in it is very, very cute.
it was ok but pretty naive
The politicsy stuff was kinda silly, both when it was meaning to be and when it wasn't meaning to be. But it's a nice film despite that.
it's very good. The politics is all about being idealistic and young and is in fact just the setting for what is a nice little film about friendship.
Fucking hated the characters. Very engaging though so probably worth seeing.
i thought the whole point of it wasn't to reach a conclusion. it's about growing up, isn't it? being young and idealistic and stupid vs. being an old cynical bastard, and the interaction between the two stages, and feeling out the humanity in the old character and the young ones. and it's a love story. i mean, it's hardly an in depth essay on politics, but was it ever supposed to be? maybe those levelling this criticism at it are looking too hard for instructions?
pretty crap, but just abnoput worth 90 mins of your life
but worth watching as far as I remember
Why do the same films always crop up on here?
Good movie 9/10.
thought it was rather good
the politics almost seemed superfluous to the the story, I thought it was going to be about their lefty ways but it's really about them as people.
well acted, well shot, good soundtrack, interesting plot
would watch again.
main negative point - did they really need to you Halleujah quite that many times?
it might've been better if they just had an instrumental version
will sit through it at some point
was reading some bad reviews of it before I seen it, but definitely worth checking out. I agree with the over-use of hallelujah though, but I did see it during the midst of the whole burke womans hallelujah fiasco
