let me rephrase, if youa re studying an art and design subject, what is course are you enrolled in?
French and Spanish - MAKE A CHOICE
I am trying to work out what particular courses people might be enrolled in, IF they are doing a course within a design school.
How're you anyway - what are you doing living in Brixton anyway, you big gayer? We should have beer together soon.
if their course is called "art and design", then thats exaclty what it is?
anything from 3D furniture design, through to product design, throught to fashion design or fashion communication... or graphic communication.
but you can still be studying art and design at said school.
I am not studying art and design at the mo.
I think this is what your asking.
I'm a little bit terrified.
But yes... this what I am asking.
So you are studying fine art, specialising in sculpture? Cool. Thank you.
you don't really decide your specialist subject until you start really.
How do they break down the criteria? Is it thematic?
I'm based in Newcastle at Northumbria University, we have our own studio's and there's a gallery based where we work which is pretty cool.
By thematic, do you mean do the tutors give us a theme to work with?
we just work from our own ideas really, tutors try and steer that idea in the right direction. At the moment I'm working on 'destroying minimalist sculptures, and in the process creating new forms' >_<
I'm currently doing a project called 'methodology'. My focus is the behavioural traits of animals of the nocturne.
My tutor is Anthony Gormleys assistant, little fact there.
my tutors aren't that exciting, sadly :(
But realised I lacked the fundamental ability of being able to draw, therefore failed all of my modules and changed courses.
youre a janitor or something instead,i find theres less snobbery
but hey,at least youre above philosophy students
bumbler im thinking of dropping outta my course and doing software engineering or something idk
i want a degree that means something dammit
Good money in software engineering. You'll be able to have pearls for dinner every single night.
i planned on being a teacher, but since realised the kids will break my soul
what are you gonna be when you grow up?
good money in illustration
you could be a pithy politcal cartoonist!
Nuh...teacher as well. Might porgress onto the phd.
I'm also going to do freelance illustration on the side.
this is my final year too. eep!
I once made a terrific bus out of play-doh
but my flatmate made a head out of plasticine?
Illustration was my second choice after sculpture. What's it like? What year are you in?
and I don't have to specialise in anything in the fine art side of it.
Second year at Dundee.
