do you give them 24 hours before a SHOW? Do you change them for every SHOW? Should I say SHOW instead of GIG?
"Giggin'" makes me sound like a bellcruft
looks a bit complicated
nah err when they feel horrible and don't look as good, which varies.
on my shoulders.
Otherwise it's out-of-tune-o-rama...
We once played a gig where the guitarist had changed all his strings about an hour before we went on stage. God knows why. It was an absolute disaster.
We were recording the gig with my MD player in the corner. Between it and us was a table of random people we didn't know slagging us off.
I actually found it really hilarious but I think our singer/guitarist took it badly. I didn't mind: they'd all loved the band before us who, even in tune, were an example of awful.
maybe it's guitar type or string type or method or summink?
We went through over 15 months of not changing them, playing over 70 gigs, hundreds of rehearsals and recording sessions... shocking.
and, given I only change 'em when they break, I might not have changed some since 2004 when I bought it.
I don't gig acoustically as often I used to though.
Sounds like bright twangy ass compared to the old dull ones.
Need to change all of them tonight as a result.
I hate having a box of spare strings and some dull ones.
all about the stretch
change mine about once a month / 6 weeks but usually give them a week or two before a show to setttle down.
