job dilemma

ThingsThatFly [Edit] [Delete] 13:54, 20 January '09

I havent had a job since finishing a masters in september, in mid february I *think* (touch wood) im through to an assessment centre for a job I really want (it is a government one in the field I want so I would basically never have to look for a job again) in the meantime i've been been looking for temporary work, my main worry is having a massive gap on my cv, i've just been offered something that starts and ends in february. Im guessing i'm not the kind of person who does well in assessment centres so I really wanted to spend alot of time preparing for it so think taking this job will seriously affect my already slim chances of getting the dream job, and seeings as the temp job is only for february would it really be worth it, if I am being more realistic i'm not gonna get this job from the assessment centre and the temp job would be easy and convinient and may well extend beyond february solving my gap in the cv worry but otherwise not worthwhile.

So yeah I thouht were else to ask about all aspects of life than dis? what would you do? How do you juggle aming for somthing you want with more practical concerns
