And how much should I take if I'm going for three days?
some expensive tourist places. some cheaper places.
you could probs get away with about £150
I was thinking of taking 200 but in reality hadn't a clue. The least amount of money I could get away with the better. Drop in the value of sterling didn't help either.
But aye, thanks man.
maybe take 200 then? you can get csah out peice of piss tho if you run out. the world just gets smaller etc
I'm not actually sure about Madrid, but Barcelona was quite expensive at times when I was there.
compared to other western European cities (esp. capitals) if you can find the cheap restaurants and bars then you should be fine i'd imagine!
£150 should definitely see you for three days
everything will be on the expensive side.
Tip #1: most restaurants in central Madrid do lunchtime deals on weekdays, we had a fantastic 3 course meal+drink for 10 euros each (and they don't do the stupid 12.5% service charge on top, the price you see is the price you pay).
Tip #2: many bars sell weirdly flavoured shots for 1 euro, whereas small beers can easily cost 3 or 4 euros.
The Prado museum is free from 6 til 8 every evening (closed on Monday).
or a tuesday or something
Madrid though - yeah, it's easy enough to do cheaply enough. If you're happy spending £200/65 euros you'll be fine for food drink and entertainment
La Finca de Susana
It's very cheap but very nice. You can't book and may have to queue but well worth it.
cheers guys very grateful. It is for a friends 21st and apart from drinking(which I imagine will now be mostly weirdly flavoured shots) and going to Mardid v Deportivo at the weekend, everything is still up in the air. La Finca de Susana looks very nice :)
Again, cheers peeps.
