And which channel/what time? I don't have freeview or anything...
I'd assumed it would be an evening thing so had looked at the wrong times in the listings.
I wanted to watch it but I won't get home from work then. Presumably it is a long thing?
They have to swear in Biden first, and there are other speeches and performances from some military bands. Whole thing should take a couple of hours.
I might sky plus it anyway!
in Kilburn, with free beer and pretzels. Stupid work.
It'll be American beer I imagine though, mind.
or not here at all, I dunno.
Why are non US people bothered about watching the US president being inaugurated when I'd imagine you couldn't care less about any other country's similar event?
I understand the interest in him being elected in general - obviously the US plays an important part in the world - but going as far as to watching him being inaugurated on tv? I don't get it.
the president of the US is vicariously the president of the world.
he's the leader of the free world.
plus this time has got itself all set up to be a 'where were you when...' moment. i'll be at work for half of it
But even so, it's just a historic event, for better or worse.
I'm interested in the Messiah being elected president, IS THIS SO WRONG?!
Obama wouldn't have a problem. Obama don't got no problems with nobody.
and many people (like me) followed the massively lengthy and dramatic campaign over 2008, as it was a) heavily featured in the news, b) readily available to read about for hours while (some other people, not me, no) at work and c) very interesting.
The inauguration is the final cap on all of that, so I want to watch it while it happens. Also, Obama does mad good speechifying, so that will be nice.
Ill be around the Soho/Oxford street area of London at this time and was wandering if this will be on anywhere.
