That's not great customer service is it?
They're going to make a complaint.
I wouldn't let someone outside work talk to me like that, so I dont see why I should put up with it at work (apart from being paid).
She called me arrogant, and said I shouldn't be allowed to run a library. Fuck off you old crone.
When I worked for Sky a few years ago, I had to endure around 40 minutes of abuse from an African man who was going absolutely mental, because he was convinced that his remote didn't have an info button. He described me as a "bad man, and also stupid". My manager was sitting beside me telling me I couldn't hang up no matter how abusive or shouty he got, because he would phone back and annihilate whoever got him next.
I now envy people who work in sweat shops, because they dont have to deal with the public.
'cos a lot of my customers are well rude.
full details please. also look at it from both sides, did you do anything wrong or say anything to rile them?
She's been in twice this week to use the internet (I work in a library) but we've been having network problems. She started kicking off, saying that she knew how to fix the computers.
She started asking me to phone the technical team and tell them what to do. I refused. She asked to use our counter PCs to check her emails. again I refused (she wouldn't be able to access them anyway).
this happened to me quite a few times, almost always computer related. PEOPLES NEEDS THEIR INTERNET. i'd love it if someone complained because i quite like having a go at people. if she's kicked off at other places, your management shouldn't have any ussue with it.
I find you can get away with it. Do you have witnesses?
Also you can tell people to 'get out!' if they can't stop talking about their penis. I find.
customer service is seriously overrated imo. People expect all employees everywhere to bow to their every whim without question and endeavour to meet their every need, whether its something your company offer or not. Fuck em I say. The "customer is always right" ethos has a lot to answer for.
Luckily I've been working here long enough for management to know something like this is pretty rare for me. Also, I know this woman has kicked off in other branches.
I hope everytime she shouted you went "shhhhhhh, this is a library".
one should always be polite, and helpful where possible, but there's a line between providing a good service and bending over backwards for absolutely no good or fruitful reason. at the point where company employees feel degraded by the way they have to behave to customers, something's gone a bit wrong.
My boss went out and shouted at them.
THAT was customer service.
I can deal with people moaning and getting in a huff about something, but they moment they start being rude to me I'll either be rude back or tell them I'm hanging up. Most times they call back and apologise. Win.
a older, conservative lady rang up one of our suppliers and as the phone was picked up at the other end she heard some lad shout something along the lines of : 'i'd love to jizz over her tits'.....my boss went bright red and shouted 'i dont care what you want to do over her breasts' and slammed the phone down.......you had to be there.
and I suspect most people who have ever worked in retail would side with you.
I don't mind if a customer is angry or pissed off if there has been a problem with the service but the minute they're rude then fuck them.
and become rude then I won't. I don't think that is being rude of me.
where is it!?!
1) Language they use
2) Tone they use
3) How loud they are
4) If they have stopped listening to reason
5) What kind of mood I am in
6) Past history
i quite enjoy it when my staff need someone to tell off a rude customer. classic popcult tactics to deal with arses of customers:
-just send them down to the end window, i'll deal with them in five minutes when they've stewed for a while
-question whether they feel their behaviour is appropriate
-would you expect members of my staff to swear at you when you are trying to do your job?
-turn on the charm. rude people hate it when you are really polite to them, they have nothing to get up tight about. really quite good fun actually.
you win. news to follow of mix cd which i still haven't sent...
My boss will speak to you in a moment. Regards and have a nice day.
no thought for people who forget to do stuff for them...
