For the first time in 17 days.
I needed a break from the internet.
I did leave the house for a social reason on Friday and went to the pub with my friend and had one drink, but we had to go home early for internet related things. And i think i'm going to a gig next month.
How do you get a social life?
I was going to say, you could try bidding for one on ebay.
we need a wikihow entry for this one.
A leg or a foot work well.
smile a lot and look happy
(on the 31st dec, but still)
since the 18th of December. And that hardly counts as I was on my own.
You have to go back to the 6th of December for the last time I went to a pub, or spoke to anyone for a long period of time(with my dad)
I don't have any kind of social life.
At least if I was in boro, I'd have the mildly diverting choice of shit dive pubs with people I know.
I did go to West Brom though on the 3rd, Id forgot about that.
shame about the reply.
At least in Boro you have the Met Lounge....haha!
BRING BACK THE CARPETS!
I love that they sold bits of the carpet off when they refitted last time.
someone I went to school withs parents met there. They still live in Peterborough and said person met her boyfriend there. Ugh. Scary.
I remember a picture of Steve Jason holding a bit of carpet over a skip in the ET.
I know plenty of people like that... Who still go every week.
(Although I did actually meet my girlfriend there, although we did bond over how shit it is. That makes it ok? Right?)
I hadn't heard about the selling of the carpets! At keast the floor is still sticky...!
I actually went there on Christmas Eve and had a good time. More down to the drink than the music, I'm sure.
ain't been to the met in a while though. Try and avoid it haha. Was only back in Peterborough for a week over christmas before I decided that was enough!
the met is stuck in a time warp, but at least it is mainly my era i guess! Anyone ever been to Xoo? I'm not sure where it is or if it's any better for that matter.
it's downstairs at city club, behind barclays and the back of woolies. Still run by steve jason who thinks it a pleasure to come serve you haha.
i'm not sure if follow! Is it better than The Met?
bar, a bit of seating and a dancefloor. Only it's so small you kinda feel like you're in someone's front room. People just tend to go there as a stop before somewhere else. So it's not really for going 'out' out like met.
he sometimes decides to come bring your drinks over to you and be all schmoozy being as he's the owner. It's pretty cringeworthy.
i feel awkward at the best of times... maybe it isn't for me. Will everyone stare at us like that scene from An American Werewolf in London?
They made us queue up even though it was empty inside. It's under the city club. Behind WH Smiths. Used to be rumpole's (I think)
How did the DJ set at the Voodoo lounge go? Was that the weekend just gone?
Oh, i think it went ok thanks! Pat (one of the owners as The Warn correctly pointed out) came and asked if he'd left his record collection behind our desk and we had a few people come to shake our hands/ high five etc which was really nice :) There was this one couple that was dancing in a manner that was practically intercourse at one point about 2-feet in front of us. That was good, haha. They're booked up for the rest of this month... fingers crossed we'll get invited back in Feb though :)
I wonder if you know my friend...
the problem is when it ends, i see that i don't have one and have been living an hour and a half of a lie.
i therefore plan to watch this film called satantango which is eight hours long. that's almost a whole day's worth of having a social life. it's faultless.
The same will stay true until tomorrow night, when I'll be forced to get rest so I can participate in an MLK service thing the next day. Then back to the same. School starts again next week though, at which point the good life will be over.
