question for chris is cool, or other potential soldiers
Given the rather grim and thankless and possibly in the end 'non successful' theatres of afghanistan and Iraq, what is the motivation for a young man to now join the british army (When i was a kid the motivation was great cos of the idea of WWII heroes, i cant see what it would be now, as the armed forces tend to carry out the will of the government which is often suggested to bee flawed and mistaken)
Of course there are always the guns n stuff, but, i mean, things dont seem to have improved completely, when soldiers get injured you still hear of how they are sometimes treated lamentably.....this seems to be a bit of a recurring theme (although maybe iots just annecdotal and these stories stick in your head cos they seem unjust).......how would you feel about getting injured and disabled i nthe line of duty? Are you asked to consider whether you could handle this, during recruitment?
