although trying to have a romantic meal in your lounge while your housemates are rating women on telly a few feet away would sort of spoil the mood I reckon
and they can stand at the closed door sniggering
rather than quaffing expensive bottles of wine with a beau, why not sniff methylated spirits while drinking water?
The way January is looking, any romantic meals up until payday on the 27th are basically going to consist of candlelit beans on toast.
Its not so bad once you are properly going out with someone but when you are trying to court someone then its a real pain in the ass.
Although you do spend a lot more time in parks/art galleries/free gigs etc etc.

And I have done on many occasions with the ladyfriend. But I wouldn't call it overly romantic...
and you're wondering how many nights you can do with your cineworld card, or whether they don't mind eating pasta and watching crap films with you because there's gonna be a lot of both for the immediate feature
cheapo ideas: a walk? probably a really good one. a long walk and a pint, test her mettle. saatchi gallery - free (just don't eat around chelsea, it's well over-priced). errr, bug friends for guest list places. chuck your flatmates out for a night, that'll make a difference.
two of my best dates with my boyfriend have involved cooking massive exciting for each other (saying that, we ate out tons to contrast, so maybe that's why it was so nice)
