It was alright. Not brilliant. Fell asleep twice.
Next week: The Wrestler! (In depth review)
its just meh.
Anyway it doesn't matter, I think I'm seeing it on Sunday now.
he can bore me to death by pointing out bits of editing.
You can provide me with the ACTION viewing.
during a bad film?
I was just knackered. The only other film I fell asleep during was Charlie and the Chocolate factory (latest version)
apparently is briiliant
Give me one afternoon drink and sit me in a dark room and that's it.
I had a pint before Willy Wonka and I was out like a light
i was expecting it to be a bit more gritty though. their accents made me laugh. and the likening of Tuvier to Moses was annoying after a while. especially when he freaked out and Aseal was like 'wtf dude, get through the marshes fuckers!'
but with films of that subject matter, they have to be excellent really. It didn't move me at all really.
go back to the fucking ghetto if you want to you miserable bastards.
week two, film one: Che Part 1
Good! I liked the two different periods flicking in and out. Good action bits. More than a little biased. Will watch Part 2.
Tonight: The Reader
Good! Light, feel good fun. Overall predictable, but how they did bits of it were unpredictable. Laughed a few times. Out Loud.
Fine! Improved a lot as the film went on, lots of references to Live Action D+D. Copious use of swearing minor, to good effect. Some characters didn't quite work.
Cos i do.
it's meant to be good. except for Tom Cruise.
Well i read that the american reviewers have been giving Cruise a hard time over his performance but the Germans are giving him really good reviews. Take from that what you will.
For the record I am a Tom Cruise fan, there I said it!
A serious slap in the face to millions
apparently it's supposed to be a bit poo though. Which is a shame.
It was like a TV movie or something - way too melodramatic. Especially the end, I definitely didn't see the brother arriving and saving them. And then "Oh and they lived in this other forest for like 3 years."
contributions will be welcome
or just one review per film?
i like the idea of multiple.
It's all about different perspectives on the same thing
you will have about 18 different perspectives on the wrestler then
OK, I'll submit a few. I make no apologies for quality, I'm an engineer not a copy-editor.
Also an outlet for me to swear loads on the internet
length = p, style = f(panache) and acceptablity (r) is inversely proportional to swearing/minute, then impact = f(panache)(k/p)^r
impact = 3.4?
Anyway the blank space would have sufficed.
Truly awful film. Possibly the worst I've ever seen. Even walked out of the cinema before it had finished.
Just to make sure it stayed bad.
You missed Samuel L Jackson producing the two biggest guns ever from nowhere and attacking two hellocopters
Or if the plot or character's justification illustrated why.
But no. It was just two massive hellacopters firing missiles at him while he fired these massive guns. Did I mention he was dressed like a Soviet? He was dressed like a Soviet
I was almost literally hiding behind my hands at the end when the Russians came to save em all.
Daniel Craig really shouldn't have done it. Just as he's starting to build up a bit of respect, he goes and acts alongside that horrible little Billy Elliott and that stupid yank.
It confirmed to me why I don't like going to the pictures.
What I hate hate hate about the pictures is when it ends and the credits roll, and people seem to make this sort of collective "ahh, there you have it!" conclusion noise.
people have more made disgruntled, aggressive noises
Fine! A bit mono paced, and the first hour could probably have been half an hour, but it recovered in the second hour, and held my interest. Ralph Fiennes was pretty wooden. Winslet was OK, but no better.
