Why is it so easy to cheat the system? (doll-centric)
or "job seekers allowance" as it's supposed to be called.
I signed on a couple of weeks ago and today was my first appointment. I handed in my evidence, which is essentially a little piece of paper, where you write the things you've done to try and find work in the last two weeks. I sat at a desk and signed a form to say that I hadn't done any work during that fortnight, then I was told I could go. I even said, "is that it then?" - I was expecting some questions at least, not an interrogation as such, just some friendly discussion to talk about what I had done to find a job. This was far to easy, I could easily have lied (I didn't by the way, I'm actively looking for work) and walked away with my £50 a week for sitting on my backside.
This really isn't fair, it shouldn't be so easy, right? (I expect to see a long post from CG on the subject, I hope he doesn't disappoint me).
