i used to bum the fuck out of History at school, WWI and WWII to be precise. i wish i had done a History degree to be honest too.
anyway, my question is:
is there a standout book on this subject? something that is well known for being (one of) the best documentations of WWII? I want something that covers it all. the treaty agreements, the rise of hitler before the war, the aftermath of WW etc, then all of the important battles, and then aftermath.
i don't really want pictures, i just want a big, solid book that'll blow me away.
i've just finished reading Mein Kampf, and finished watching Band of Brothers (both for the first time) and it's kind of re-kindled my love of all things War.
any good Documentries/websites would be great too, help me out pls guyz! i know there must be some history buffs on here.
google and amazon etc bring up far too many results, i wanted some proper human recommendation. thnx!
