this documentary on 4 is heartbreaking
In some ways I think I fear it more than any other illness - I get there's a sense that, in the worst stages, you'd be unaware of much of what was happening to you but still it's an utterly horrific illness that's a real nightmare of mine.
with people who have dementia, and it really is totally horrific. In some ways its actually worse for the family once the illness in the advanced stage. The people I work with have severe challenging behaviours, and the level of distress and confusion is incredibly sad to see.
