you're more likely to get sick and/or die you unhealthy lump he is told
It can't be nice getting a letter like that, but if thems the rules....
Besides, it IS unhealthy - he's already in his 40's, his wife is hardly slim herself, and despite his protestations that they don't eat takewaways every night, it still shows some, minor, kind of neglect in not tackling his weight that doesn't exactly help in making a rock solid case for looking after a child.
She doesn't look that slim either, and he says he doesn't smoke or drink or sit around eating takeaways. He must do something to be that big.
Regardless, the more I think about this, the more convinced I am that it's fair.
A parent should be able to play with his/her child, and by the time this one is running about he'll be mid-forties, and presumably the same weight or larger. And if you're bitching about having to lose weight to adopt, how badly do you really want a kid anyway? Losing the weight should normally be incentive enough...
I think that if women are obese it becomes harder for them to become pregnant. Plus, who wants a fat Dad who can't run around the park, go swimming, etc with their kid for fear that Dad's heart might give in.
They've set a realistic target and, if he cares that much about having a kid, he'll achieve it.
24 1/2 stone, I should hope he knows.
They've set him a realistic target that, if he cares that much about having a kid, he'll achieve.
Anyone whose that heavy and doesn't have a genuine medical condition who claims they can't lose weight is lying to themselves.
Kept telling me I wasn't posting, hence the triple post.
you're trying to brainwash us with your realistic targets
Most people adopt babies
The child will just grow up to be a fatty.
He clearly can't look after himself so how could he care for a child.
I'm 10 stone lighter than the bloke and I'm a fatty, so he must be enormous, it's not a healthy environment for a child to grow up in.
However, how is this news?
Man and woman have inkling they're too fat to adopt. They don't do anything about it but ask anyway. Get turned down. Becomes bbc news item.
