I just watched it at the pictures.

I'm not sure I'm comfortable with something like the holocaust getting the Hollywood Treatment in the first place. This sort of confirmed that.

It could have been any 'story of brotherhood'. It just so happened that this one was based around the story of the Bielski brothers.

It made one of the most admirable acts of the century seem like a shallow piece of explosive action, complete with faceless German soldiers, slow motion fight scenes and a montage juxtaposing a marriage ceremony with footage of a battle.

How they got away with casting an ultimate aryan as a Jewish hero is pretty surprising.
