Easily more sickening than anti-semitic Nazi propaganda films from the 30s?
I think so.
Both led to a newly elected government which proceeded to do massive damage to the country.
slightly different situation.
but the same principle.
saying 'we're better, vote for us!'
totally sinister. totally......
you could equate it to anything on that principle.
and then leaving the country in a much worse position than it was in beforehand.
like i said, that's the first time i've seen it. and it's fucking good. Labour can't in any way be equated to the Nazi party or what 'they've done to the country'.
or the bit when the girl runs over with the flowers?
or the balloon man on rollerskates?
Are you fucking stupid?
the idea comes across well and personally i think the choice of music was a stroke of genius. it reaches out to the 'common man', it's easy to follow, obvious and straight to the point. if they'd made one with stats and some man speaking about change, people would be bored and not give a shit.
are YOU fucking stupid?
Yeah they're all stupid morons who vote for parties that smile at them and play happy songs.
you clearly have a well thought out point to make here wrightylew, clearly.
but for completely different reasons.
When did Labour leave the country? Hopefully they never ever will.
the salient message of this advert was to vote and it did it without being adversarial, which i think is good. i am so up on this political broadcast.
you've never seen The Triumph Of The Will or The Eternal Jew (and neither have i), but if you read even a little about what those films are about, and what's contained in them, saying that this lame party broadcast is on the same level is pretty reprehensible.
she's way better than Sofia Coppola
it was pretty effing good!
you told me you were gonna vote tory.
i'm a labour man and i'll be a labour man till the day I die
at first I thought it was just going to be a normal voter and the point was everyone could be a hero by voting labour, then when they showed a little flash of his face I was though "no, they can't be doing this" and then I saw it was blair and did a little sick in my mouth.
There should be a 2009 update where he walks down the street and instead of wide-eyed near messianic awe, everyone shouts at him and calls him a smug cuntbucket
i mean wtf?
who was in a 97 Labour Campaign ad, laughing and looking smiley about how awesome things would be in Tony's new Britain

it was 17 years of conservative neglect and damage that made things too difficult for labour and forced us into? this recession. labour set it's goals too high because in may areas they have made things better, i am willing to give them a second term
