When foreigners buy your stuff off ebay?

Axis [Edit] [Delete] 11 replies 19:08, 7 January '09

What do you do, i'm not keen to send this xbox game to Spain, can i refuse? They've not yet paid.

Also if i am to send it how much would it cost, and do the Spanish even record their deliveries?

  • Did you say you'd post it abroad in the listing?

    katieb | 7 Jan '09, 19:12 | X
    • no, how does this work, what the standard here?

ie left blank the assumption is?

      Axis @katieb | 7 Jan '09, 19:21 | X
      • Not sure, just say to them that the postage will be more because they're

        overseas.

        • i think ebay has thought of this as i have to send them an updated invoice

stating what i want to charge...

          Axis @katieb | 7 Jan '09, 19:25 | X
  • But they'll pay for the extra postage.

So there's no harm in it. Once you've posted it, that's your bit done.

    • i'm not against it in theory

just want to send recorded so there's less chance of dispute, and it appears to be £7.48! They'll never pay that surely?

      • .

what are you asking us for?

        Matthewjbutler @Axis | 7 Jan '09, 19:25 | X
        • acceptance?

          Axis @Matthewjbutler | 7 Jan '09, 19:37 | X
          • granted

Chuck some chorizo in the envelope when you send it and I am sure they'll be happy regardless of the postage costs

  • I had to start refusing overseas sales because I had too many problems

...which is really unfair on those that weren't unscrupulous.

Then recently, someone from overseas bought one of my items regardless and I got screwed over again.

Above all, I give you one warning. If you ever get a message asking if you'll ship overseas, when replying (and irrespective of what you're saying), make sure you tick the box saying "hide my e-mail address". It would take me way too long to describe the mess I ended up in because I hadn't realised why this is done.

Apologies to the decent majority of overseas people who have no intent of screwing me over.

    • hide my email address, um, probably a little late for that now.

Do tell, this sounds interesting (to me anyway), try condensing the story a little, go on.
