Three predictions for 2009: International politics
1) Robert Mugabe will die (old age/illness) leading to brief civil war followed by installation of flimsy coalition proportional representation government of conflicting ideals.
2) Gilbralta seeks greater independence from Britain, including a demand for the removal of the Royal Navy base, leading to support from Spain and seaborne stand-offs in the Mediterranean between Spanish and British vessels.
3) China's grwoing economy provides a respite from the gloom of the credit crunch, thus encouraging everyone to forget that Tibet exists.
