...fuck am I supposed to do with all this crap?
i don't know what any of it is.
not convinced yet
Best pair of street-phones I've ever had. They're comfortable, they're compact, they look sick. What is it you don't like? The subtlety of the treble? The crisp detail in the mid ranges? The skull-shattering bass?
but i think the treble is a little sharp and unnatural (jazz doesn't sound particularly good on them, especially horns) and the bass is maybe a little bit undistinct and muddy (which isn't what you want formore natural, organic stuff). And i'm not convinced on their reproduction of distortion. And they seem to have this weird cramped resonance (probably something to do with them being closed)
but hey, they're still very new, i'm currently in the process of pink noise burn-in like a good little geek
Look how sexy these are. $599 is worth it. ...right?
Maybe they do get better as you break them in. I know that one of the reasons I've stuck with them is that jazz always sounds great on them on the tube as well as in an empty room at night - especially really spare piano trio stuff. What were you using before?
brilliant for guitars and distortion, brilliant for jazz, and open so everything resonates nicely. They're not the most precise headphones in the world, but they give everything a lot of energy. And there's no chance you can take them anywhere public
i have heard that the ES7s need a long time to get burned in, but the improvement is apparently massive. And burning in does tend to calm down highs and improve bass control in general, so i imagine a lot of my issues will come around
How quickly do you get through them?
Nah. The solder job I did on the previous pair didn't hold up as well as I liked, so when the jack went on this pair, I sent them both back to the factory to get done professionally. Cost almost fuck all, too - I was expecting them to fuck me Apple style.
do you still have the wasabi box? whats in it if so?
they look tasty
