Real Madrid plaease.
1058: Uefa show they have a sense of humour as the seating plan for the draw is revealed. Apparently, Manchester United officials have been seated next to the represents of...yes, you've guessed it...Real Madrid. Don't get Uefa to plan the seating for your wedding folks.
"Sir Alex Ferguson's response to the latest comments coming out of the Spanish capital was absolute quality and I think they merit repeating here. "Would I get into a contract with that mob? Absolutely no chance," he said. "I wouldn't sell them a virus - that's a no." Genius."
I think I'd quite like Bayern actually
I guess I'd like to avoid Barcelona but it's not a complete disaster if we get them.
Might aswell get em out the way
or in like 5 weeks?
last year was the most drawn out affair since...something else
well, the technical statement of the draw is being read out
when you are relegated to the Blue Square premier for financial irregularities.
cant it be like on football manager where you can skip passed the tedious draw bit and just see who is playing who :'(
Villarreal v Panathinaikos...interesting
you are ruining the excitment!

Damn not Man Utd...
they should win that.
Real haven't been great this season, watched their last couple of games and they were all over the shop.
I expect them to recover and to have moved into second place in the league by the time the ties are played.
On their day 2 of the best teams to watch in europe.
jose running down the line to celebrate the winner etc etc.
ramos is their manager. raul is not very good anymore
Ramos wasn't a bad manager in Spain you know.
but in his first game he played the best right back in the world at left back, and a completely left footed player on the right wing.
real havent got a great side at the mo
though we'll probably be expected to win, which is never a good thing for us in Europe.
^ as much as that list is cunt ridden to the very last, you'd be an idiot to suggest inter are more likely to go through
and we all know what happened there, you don't win anything on paper.
and play it narrow. I think it's a tough tie, but if we have a full squad to pick from I'd say we've a better than average chance.
Inter aren't as good as Chelsea. Ibrahimovic is a wonderful player on his day, but his days aren't that frequent.
but I think if we have a full team fit, Scholes, Carrick and Fletcher/Anderson would come out on top against Stankovic, Cambiasso, Muntari and Vieira - if he does play 4 in the middle, which seems to be the case. Ronaldo and Rooney playing wide (it's Europe, that's what Rooney does) running at an aging defence, Berba up top. Hopefully Brown will be back too, as I'd suspect Raphael may be a bit suspect with the overlapping fullbacks, though on the other hand we may use Ronaldo/Raphael and Rooney/Evra to push them back.
I'm more worried about Queresma than I am Ibrahimovic. Rio/Vidic will handle him easily unless he's having one of those days, and quite frankly I've yet to see him have one of those outside a youtube compilation clip.
Really wanted Real though. I hope they do the Dippers less cos of the rivalry, more because I want to send them out ourselves.
Inter are complete crap in Europe. Not sure about the other three English teams yet.
'Istanbul. Nou Camp. Now you can add the santiago Bernabeu to the list. A truly historic night blah blah wanky wank ITV'
as Mr Liverpool secures a historic win*
*Dives for a penalty in the last minute.
is there another centre half in the world who you'd want in your team on a night like tonight david?"
when ITV's anal pleasuring of liverpool is discussed.
"its keane. its scholes. its ONE NIL"
I miss when crosses were more commonly know as 'centres'
'It's Mourinho vs Ferguson. The Special One vs Sir Alex. I think I have just cum'
Juventus are a very good side and I can't see it being an action packed tie, but I can't fucking wait to see Claudio back at Stamford Bridge
Arsenal fans probably shouldn't throw those particular kinds of stones whilst in glass houses, should they?
or has people like Steve Howard and Martin Samuel been talking shit? I don't think you would find many, if any, Arsenal fans who want him to go.
You fucking love the colour blue you proddy slut.
there were loads of moronic Arsenal fans calling for his head. You posted about it infact. See also; Eboue being booed.
I don't think you'd find many Chelsea fans calling for Scolari's head either. There have been no reports on it, no rumblings at the club. Basically, you're talking shit. Go back to wanking over Van Persie, you Orangemen loving shit.
I said anyone who wanted wenger to leave was a moron. There is a difference.
You have been calling for his head all week. Why would you lie? Basically, you hate the pope. Go back to fingering Winston Bogarde, like a good little Presbytarian.
'I said anyone who wanted wenger to leave was a moron'
Where is said difference?
I bet you don't believe Mary was a virgin. People like you sicken me.
you said 'A month or so ago there were loads of moronic Arsenal fans calling for his head. You posted about it infact'
when in fact I said, anyone who wants him to leave is a moron. I said that because there hadn't been loads of fans calling for his head, just bullshit in the tabloids and the odd idiot. Unlike a lot of chelsea fans calling for Scolari's head.
Did you know 'Kelly' means Pagan whore in Gaelic? I hate you.
A few people have called for his head, but a few people still believe the world is flat.
your family, the official chelsea supporters club, Frank Lampard Sr, Ken Bates, John Spencer.
David Dein signed him. Rioch just happened to eb manager at the time. He had NOTHING to do with it.
Dein said to Rioch "you can have any player you like", Rioch said "ok, what about Bergkamp", so Dein said "will do"
but you do seem to be more in on arsenal goings on than the gunners fan who told me that (er, my dad), so i'm sure you're right
I wouldn't want to dismiss anyone elses views without being 100% sure myself. (Unless its DanielKelly, who has a history of talking pure bollocks)
though he might be, thinking about it :/
I am olegrich's though. BURN.
are all in danger of going out here. Chelsea due to their sh*t form, United because Inter are amazing and have Ibrahimovic, and Liverpool because derr I can see Juande doing a phoenix-like rise.
That's not a sarcastic dig btw, just curious!
against Arsenal this season, so you never know
and chelsea are having shits form.
Chelsea aren't scoring enough and lack a bit of an edge atm. Bit too much to say they're having shit form though.
but you don't stay 2nd in the league when your form is shit, is all I'm saying. Obviously they need to improve.
in a knockout competition where away goals count double, that is critical.
3 for 3
but i can see juve scoring. Even if they lose that game, an away goal is a prized commoddity
I can see any result. I can see us tearing them apart, I can see them destroying us. I can also see (much more clearly) two 0-0 draws and a penalty shootout.
Zlatan "I'm Great, Me" Ibrahimovic
hence how quickly I got it typed up.
Liverpool & Arsenal will go through, not sure about Man Utd or us to be honest, depends how we're performing by February.
It's the kind of game people write us off in, but we always progress somehow. Plus Real really aren't all that at the moment.
Great set of ties there.
so you're favourites in my book and a probably a lot of other people will feel the same.
It's just in the past people have automatically written us off against Barca, Juventus, Milan, Arsenal, Chelsea etc etc etc.
The second leg will be at Anfield as well which always bodes well for us.
doom for the others
about Utd, on paper we have a better first 11 and squad but the fact it's Mourinho makes it a lot harder.
I can see us going through to be honest. I expect 'pool and arsenal to go through, I'd be more concerned if I was a chelsea fan, juve have looked impressive this year.
i really hope i'm proved right in thinking that inter are actually pretty awful.
they're terrible. Apart from making the semis in 2003 their record is pretty atrocious over the last few years.
but i don't think they're a good team full stop.
they only win in italy because the general standard is so poor at the moment.
barca to win that comfortably.
I can see 7-4 Barcelona on aggregate.
And you never know, they might tear them a new one at Villa park.
Damn MON's tinkering
but never mind, they've done amazingly well so far in my opinion. the home win against Ajax, and the away win against Slavia, :')
Ajax are always a tough proposition, with european pedigree, and it's always hard to go to eastern europe in winter and get a result, just ask the arsenal fans. This was villa's first season in europe for years, the first euro football for a lot of the team (who are also young), hence they've don fantastically well.
It wouldn't have been entirely unrealistic to see them do what West Ham did last year, or Everton this.
a slight aside - I think West ham missed a big trick by not putting the Bobby Moore Cancer Charity on their shirts while they were negotiating for a new shirt sponsor. And regardless of THAT, those squad numbers just looked, well, shit
stupid fucking bureaucracy/premier league. You'd think they'd let something like that slide.
that's prety cool.
They were both tricky games, especially away in Prague, we may well be 4th at the moment but this is our first season back in Europe for years. We played reserves teams in the other two games so the losses were to be expected.
I can't see a very average Real side breaking through the Benitez
1-1-8 formation in the first leg. 0-0 at the Bernabau, Liverpool to win at home.. probably 2-1.
lol, if only. :D
you're wrong though, I can't see them improving that much by February (they're nowhere near good enough).
but I can't see them being in a position to win the CL by February, I think there's too much work to do. Maybe next season when Ramos has had a little more time.
and I can't see it happening.
recored in Europe's been pretty poor over the last 5 years though, and I wouldn't say they've got stronger team now than they did then.
I'm still not sure I can see them winning the whole thing though, especially with van Nistelrooy out for the rest of the season.
And Ramos is a good manager but hasn't really been at this level before, Sevilla did well in UEFA Cup but Champs League for Madrid vs Pool is a different kettle of fish. Rafa is a master of these ties and I fully expect Liverpool to go through by the odd goal.
but I'll take Inter, though it's probably the hardest draw we could have had. A chance to avenge that defeat to Porto in 2004, I suppose. That really was a sickener.
but i really just don't think inter are good. no reliable core, lots of show ponys.
haven't been at all impressed by them whenever I've seen them this year, though I can never be arsed to watch Serie A anymore. Suits us that the first leg's at their gaff, too.
Hopefully Madrid will scrape past the scousers so we can dick them in the quarters. They've been so poor this season, though, I doubt they will.
i think if we did fergie would go mad and play laurent blanc or something. he'd get too wound up by the fixture and let it get to him - inter's a game he can at least handle in a calm collected way.
i still don't expect the tactical, solid performance that we got last year mind. scholes will play and add nothing for seventy minutes. and giggs will come on for a forward and give the ball away repeatedly before missing an easy chance.
seeing Giggs come on when Utd are chasing the game 70 minutes in is just disheartening, especially in these central roles Ferguson keeps pissing about with. All Giggs contributes now is fancy flicks to no fucker in particular and the occasional shrug of his shoulders.
You have to wonder what Anderson's done wrong tbh.
