Congratulations to Blyth Spartans, whose late goal was enough to see them beat Bournemouth 1-0 and seal a 3rd round FA Cup tie against managerless Blackburn Rovers. Although if the rumours are true, Rovers won't be managerless by the weekend as the board are apparently very keen to push throught the reappointment of Graeme Souness.
In other news, Eduardo played the first half of an Arsenal reserve fixture against Portsmouth last night. Although it looks unlikely that he'll be troubling the Premier League for another month or so, all went well.
As far as transfer talk goes, there are suggestions that Celtic will let Aiden McGeady go either in January or the summer if a bid of £10m+ comes in, Owen has been told that he will have to take a £25k a week wage drop to stay at Newcastle, his potential suitors (rumoured to be Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Everton) are all waiting on a decision but seem unlikely to offer better money, Harry Redknapp is keen on Stewart Downing and Carlo Cudicini but knows he is unlikely to get either and Juande Ramos is still being tipped to raid the Premier League in the transfer window.
