My gums are receeding faster than a it takes for me to feel sick listening to a Snow Patrol record.

What the fudge do I do? It's not my brushing as I have a *ultra* soft toothbrush and only brush up and down the way my dentist says. Where it's receeding bleeds regularly and it's starting to make me look like some kinda pikey who can't look after this teeth.
