A bit of a stale night for English clubs in the Champions League, with Arsenal succumbing to a 2-0 defeat at Porto which sees them finish 2nd in their group. Mind you, when you look at the standard of sides to have qualified in either 1st or 2nd throughout the tournament, you have to wonder if that really matters. Despite Tevez giving Man Utd the initiative it took a second half equaliser for Man Utd to get a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford. Celtic's 2-0 win at home against Villareal means Utd didn't relinquish top spot.
In other fixtures, Priskin's good form and a strike from Tommy Mooney saw Watford take all 3 points from Norwich, the game ending 2-1 to the home side, and 2 goals in as many minutes saw Kettering claim a shock 2-1 win over Notts County in the FA Cup.
Ally McCoist (bastard!) is the latest name connected with the Sunderland job. Celtic are apparently preparing a £5m swoop for Craig Bellamy, Man City have been linked with moves for Franck Ribery and Wayne Bridge (as well as all the usuals), Aston Villa will move for for Sheffield United defender Kyle Naughton, Ramos wants to take Portsmouth's Diarra to Real Madrid and Chelsea will try to fund a move for Amir Zaki by selling want-away defender Alex to AC Milan for £10m. One move Chelsea have successfully completed is stealing Jamie Redknapp away from his annoying Nintendo adverts, with the former Liverpool and Spurs player joining their backroom staff on a part-time basis.
Plenty of other transfer rumours too. Please feel free to add to the list.
