Pfft. I vote Johnson.
is my fave of the season thus far. If it gets beaten then we are lucky buggers.
by David Bentley's.
I'm a purist- a great goal takes no deflections, not in off a post or a player. Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't Almunia get a hand to Bentleys?
vainly grasping at thin air as the shot goes flying past him. It's a bit weird but no matter how great they are, I don't enjoy goals as much when the keeper makes no effort to get at them. It's all about aesthetics, see.
I find it even more satisfying when the keeper slams his fist against the turf after being beaten, out of bitter frustration.
turns round to pick the ball out of the net and kicks it hard into the air, putt his full force into the kick in frustration
I love all that melodramatic shit that accompanies certain goals. See also, centre-halves frantically waving their arms in a circular motion/clapping their hands at their team-mates in a vain attempt to gee them up, after they've all been flattened by a 30-yard screamer. (H)
one of my favourites was when you used to play sunday league football and you would score really early, and the player who scored in an attempt at hiding his excitment at scoring and being a mature 'leader' would scream at the rest of the team 'ITS 0-0! ITS 0-0'
You don't get many like that.
Robinho's was par for the course.
