worth going for a day to check out y/n?
things to do?
City's not massively endowed with sightseeing stuff. I normally just take people to the pub when they visit. Wonderful for a night out though.
didn't know you dossed on here too!
and roundhay park is the best place in the world in winter. but that's 30minute busride from the city centre...
there are certainly much worse places to have a day out
There are loads of lovely places, but they're all a travel out of the city centre. I was going to mention Roundhay park, but it's more of a trek than I can be arsed with, even living here.
Leeds needs more train stations!
so much. it's fantastic here.
I said that when I was moved here. :P
I'm popping in for a drink downstairs and then going off to get my groove on at HiFi! I won't blame you if you wanna stay there though cos its probably more your thang aint it.
Just bear in mind that loads of beautiful girls go in HiFi on Wednesdays ;)
there are many, many attractive girls there. i like it.
I love that place. Movin' On Up or whatever it was called was a great a club night.
I knew I'd hate it when I stepped off the train station and was met with a huge grey fucking wall and general shitness. The uni looks like a fucking industrial estate and non of the toilets work.
Which one do you go to? Uni, Met or, seeming how you're talking about industrial estate-esque architecture, I imagine you could be like me at trinity
I just went to the open day. And it was for leeds uni, not met, it had huge bloody chimneys coming out of every other building.
you can't get anywhere without a car unless you live in headingley with all the other transient unwashed scumbags.
Nights out are overrated, T+C club has only just re-opened so whoever said Leeds has venues is correct, but of those, there is only one good one.
There's nowt for sightseeing, shopping is good if you have the body of an anorexic, nights out are the same as any other city, but.....
The people in Leeds are usually really fuckin cool. I love yorkshire and the folk they produce, now then, Ilkley moor bah tat.
Lived there for 7 years, still have a house there, have some good friends there, but it's a city like any other, shite
Back in my day (fucking years ago), we had the T&C, The Met and the Duchess, all putting on cracking gigs, plus the Fenton, the Royal Park and a few other pubs whose names I forget.
I've never been to Brudenell Social club, but everyone I know whose been likes it a lot.
In summary: I doubt that there's ever been a time when the T&C was the only decent venue in Leeds. It wasn't even the best venue when I was there.
always liked play swell
and they have a stuffed POLAR BEAR and a massive TIGER!! What more do you need!
to visit my friend - she's the new assistant manager of Lush!
are any disers at hifi on friday?whats it like ive never been
i mean the night on a friday you dodo
Spent the first 21 years of my life there and still back regularly to see friends and family. Now in London.
Everytime I go back I get excited and every time I'm disappointed. Headingley was my stomping ground and now it's just fucking unbearable. I hate to be a Paul Calf type student hater, but they've ruined it. You can't have a quiet drink on a Tuesday afternoon without some Tarquin dressed as a pirate screaming 'DOWN IT HUGO, DOWN IT!!!'.
town's alright, the likes of Sandinista and that.
still, it just isn't what it once was.
i dont care how studenty it may or not be, drydock is the best place in the world
i must just be getting old.
but i felt like i was too old for the drydock at about 18.
i just like the fact its a boa.and bbqs in the summer on the terrace bit are brilliant
Although that has a lot to do with the fact I accidentally walked into the ladies.
