Nike or Nikey?
Do you say Nikey?
In Greek mythology, Nike (Greek ???? pronounced [ní?k??], meaning Victory),
so it's pronounced ní?k??
???? is pronounced Nickair, but no-one's gonna say that.
It's nike, that's what the company themselves say, so no matter what it's based on, that's what it is.
Adee-dass or Addy-dass?
the greek letters were there a minute ago, on both posts.
In the greek, it's Nu (n), iota (i), kappa (k), eta (which is the long e, pornounced 'air')
Nikey for Pikeys
and also reebok was rowbook
its Nike isnt it though.if i ever heard someone say out loud 'Nikey' id spit on them
But that's just years of training. It SHOULD be Nikey. We'll all call it Nikey soon enough. When my mum was a kid Nestlé was pronounced like the English word nestle, even in adverts but that's changed.
You don't say 'Nikey Air Max', that's just daft.
and there is sounding like you've given a majour corporation an affectionate pet name
Why can't I spell any more?
But the fact remains that the company is called Nike. Not Nikey.
100%. I care not for the origin of their name.
It has been neither quick nor important
if you'd replied like a spastic
One day all my missing words are going to explode into one post
Also: Adidas or A-DEE-dus?
A-DEE-dus = Nikey
and Nikey swoosh
mix it up, keep it fresh yeah?
