Prompted by Roy Keane’s winter insulation (http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/nov/30/sunderland-premier-league and http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7756260.stm - photo 6), I was trying to think of the last time a manager sported a beard. I’m not counting Rafa Benitez’ terrible effort, but a full grown beard. I can’t think of any.

I have to say that it makes Keane look rather dashing. Not quite as ravishing as Olof Mellberg obviously(http://www.lotten.se/uploaded_images/olofmellberg-767576.jpg), but then again, Olof belongs on my ‘would-turn-gay-for’ list.

Can anyone think of any other bearded managers?
