should make the effort or just watch City of Lost Children some more times
Same style as Jeunet's other films but in the form of a romance.
Is one of the most perfect things ever created by a human being.
So I'd recommend it...
they're basically the same movie anyway.
First dismissing Kubrick and Coppola, and now this...
Are they crazy? Maybe music fans should stick to music?
It's not incredible but it is enjoyable and she's lovely. Watch it.
but only on first viewing
Amerlie is a amazing feel good movie, I think everyone should watch it! It paints quite a ideal picture of Paris ( disappointed me when I got there ). It has a great sound track, cinemagraphy and Amelie is insanely cute.
Also check out Angele...
The cinematography, the camera movement, the production design... stunning.
i can't be cynical about it it's just really great. I know very well paris isn't like that, but it's nice to imagine.
Watch Toto The Hero instead.
and that's coming from someone who hates twee generally. Don't let numpties with polka dot dresses and buckles on their shoes spoil a really rather good film for you.
but I love Amelie, cheers me up.
I agree, I also love Delicatessen! City of the lost children, not so much.
My heartless friend insists she's really mean for all the pranks she pulls, which I don't think is the filmmaker's point.
Quite a bit. It's gorgeous, too. And it's not an "everything is lovely" blah blah film as presumed by someone above, and, I think it was on here, someone once said something about it being terrible, being about a repressed woman, but that's a stupid argument. Some people are repressed, can there not be stories about them as well? Just watch it, it's no effort, and it's an enjoyable story.
Also: City of Lost Children is actually a little bit rubbish?
it's genuinely one of the best films EVER made, so yeah. Just perfect in every way.
if it's less than £5 when I go to buy the Day Today and Wall-E in HMV tomorrow I'll get it
