How do I get past this?

Writing my first essay in months and I feel like I've lost the ability to write anything remotely coherent or intelligent. I have no good argument, no structure, and a complete inability to write above the level of a 14 year old. I've been at the laptop since half 10 this morning and have written 300 words.

Aside from getting a new brain, any help?
