Why did grown-ups laugh at things that were not funny? And didn't laugh at cartoons?

And being told to go to bed when I actually wasn't tired at all. It'd be pretty strange just lying in bed staring around now until I fell asleep.
I'd sometimes go in just to read them. It was very odd. I was old enough to understand that bathrooms were generally the only place you were allowed to do willies and bums if you were a grown up, so why should there be a load of vogues here. Are they connected?
I think the adverts in them have had a big effect on my psyche. Reminds me of early morning ITV circa '94.
why people would kill each other for money, which didn't seem to secure much for me aged eight, or whatever. Two years later I was pinching pound coins out of her purse. Natch.
I asked my folks what kerb crawling was.
and i couldn't work out how they took the picture without sound, no i dont understand it either. but it bugged me to fuck!
