the most poignant historical image of the night.
Having done my dissertation on race relations in the 1960s I can't quite believe what has happenned. On this occaision all the hyperbole is totally justified.
race was never or should never have been a motivating factor in people's voting, I point them (or indeed, will be pointing them) to this footage.
On many previous threads, people have argued that race wasn't a reason that people voted for Obama. However, I thought was highly naive of people to say... of course it was (amongst many other reasons)! The fact that he's black (or mixed race) is probably the single biggest element that makes this election win so special and wonderful. And what I was getting at in my previous post was that, anyone who suggests that Obama's race shouldn't be an issue regarding him winning the election, well, it was. And the footage of Jesse Jackson is evidence of this.
'Cuz work nearly finished. Anyways, the second post explains what I meant better!
I suppose it is bigger than trying to get a wind turbine put on top of a low-rise urban house.
i don't know what to say.

the guy has spent decades fighting for civil rights and the advancement of the status and respect for african-americans, from his days with Martin Luther King, his own run for the presidency and his gaffed involvement in this one ... you really think he wasn't moved when after all those decades that this realisation of one of those dreams ?
but after this week i need a long break from the word 'historical'.
Then it cut to some knucklehead American screaming 'YEAH! AMERICA'S BACK BABY! YEAH!'
