I'll start this off with Michael Moore.

In America, The land of the free, they said, And of opportunity, In a just and a truthful way.

the first book i read of his was from the Clinton era
but nowhere near as massive in popularity terms as he was in 2002 onwards...
I think he worked to polarise people further because it was in his best interests to keep the right in power.
Have you seen that documentary 'Manufacturing Dissent'?

in the last week suggesting that shows dealing in political satire - things like the Colbert Report, the Daily Show, but also shows like SNL and the likes of Letterman et.al - will struggle for material, at least in the short term, due to Obama not only being a not particularly humorous figure, but also due to his race.
The audience for these shows is predominantly liberal and they're likely to be a bit touchy about people skewering him too much, at least in the immediate future. The best they've been able to come up with so far is 'his ears are big'...hardly the stuff of comedy legend.
I think Stewart hasn't been afraid to make jokes about Obama during the campaign, even ones that relate to his race.
And Colbert relies on his faux-image as a Republican demagogue. If anything he'll improve, pretending to rave about anyhting and everything whilst insisitng he's the rebellious outsider maverick type.
in this post brand/ross worl surely his would be the first head to roll when he appears on "...bird and fortune" all blacked up and doing a "black mans voice".
Finally, an end to those 'Not My President' tshirts.
Non-Americans wearing those tshirt really annoys me.
When I wear my Obama "not my President" t-shirt, I'm sure people'll think it means I oppose Obama when I'm merely stating the obvious.

If Camden Market hadn't already been burned down, then they'd be fucked now.
Think again...these things sell themselves
by the idea of making T-shirts with a picture of Obama saying
'not my president' and flogging them in Wyoming....
