Seriously. I'm going on holiday next week, I don't think I'm going to bother coming back.
I was just thinking this. Has the world gone fucking mad? It's a PRANK CALL, it doesn't require the intervention of the Prime Minister, especially in the midst of a financial meltdown
YOURS MOST SINCERELY, A MAN OFF OF THE INTERNET
I bet very few. And I can absolutely *guarantee* that Brown didn't listen before he chose to wade in. It's brasseye all over again...
I've heard more offensive stuff on Mock the Week.
if it ended Russell Brand's career then it'd be ace.
It'll have the opposite effect, of course, but I can hope...
If Andrew Sachs didn't have a sense of humour failure and didn't kick up a fuss over it, none of this would have happened, the miserable sod. What the fuck is Gordon Brown doing commenting on it? Incredible.
as much as ITV etc wanting to put the boot into the Beeb and sticking it on the news 24/7.
I think Sachs only properly complained *after* about 1500 other people.
The BBC has turned to shit.
"She and Sachs listen to an online recording of the show which leaves the actor "offended very much indeed"."
So he hadn't heard the messages left on his answerphone a week before? No wonder he doesn't get a lot of work now.
just so that the reader can consider......
Basically are these news reports actually being entirely innocent, what purpose is there in having a picture of her? She isn't even quoted.
Are we meant to ponder on the imaginary event and pics help? ffs. The reporting media is compounding this. If the grand daughter is offended by the phone calls does she really want more publicity like this?
'you would though' or
'and then all of dis joined in'
its not his outer shell thats important, its his inner warm humour that should count, that and fond memories he has given to the whole nation....a bit like Thora Hird
And for a full hour this was all over the news channels on the TVs on the walls. WTF? Why the hell are Brown and Cameron involved? Why the hell is everyone so worked up about it? How can you possibly justify more than about 5 minutes of a news programme being taken up by this non-story? I find Jonathon Ross tiresome, although I am a fan of Russell Brand, but even if this was massively offensive the reaction is just laughable. But it wasn't massively offensive. So. WTF?
Who'd have thought at the beginning of the year that it would come to a close with Gordon Brown - the fucking PRIME MINISTER - commenting on prank calls to Manuel from Fawlty Towers. I genuinely despair...
What was Brand thinking?
