just take him. I'll pay the cab fare.
Just thinking about it all makes me feel like crying. Ramos was supposed to be our Wenger, and now we've got Harry Redknapp? Sure, I rate the guy for what he's done at Portsmouth, but has he really got what it takes for the big time? If we get Jermain back though, I will feel much, much better about everything. I love Jermain, I really do.
you're bottom of the league mate.
Seriously, fuck off.
I follow the lads who gifted three points away at WHL. Sadly.
Not as bad as the Fulham 'performance', mind. Still, awful, left after the penalty went in.
We'll do well to stay up to be honest.
Stoke have a decent attacking outlet with Delap's throw ins. We don't have that anymore.
Sad thing is, fortress reebok it ain't. We've had a fully fit squad the last two games, and Megson's has played the most negative tactics I've seen in a long time. I mean, seriously, Spurs were there for the kicking, and we play 5 across midfield and leave Elmander up on his jack, invite pressure on...bewildering at times.
Who's you're club, kissinginkansas?
I hear Joe Hart's signed a new contract too.
Not seen the highlights, but a Robinho hattrick must've been something good. I'm not sure you'll edge Villa, but you're well within a shout of europe. Hats off to Ireland too, for you and my fantasy league team.
how much did you pay for him? £10million? What a waste of money to stick him up the park on his own
Still, hardly a steal is it?
It's really puzzling - today we had Davies on the wing while Elmander was struggling to get near the balls being lumped up to him. Surely, as Elmander is good with his feet, there should be a role reversal.
Anyways, I'm off to bed.
Harry Fucking RedHat
you could have had Hoddle!
but it does feel a bit like we've brought in Paul Anderson to direct Citizen Kane.
I hope he does get something out of the players who want to be in the team and get rid maybe of one or two who just went there for the 'glory'
I reckon you'll be after a couple of workhorses in January - as from Defoe who'd be on your list?
anyone who's any good in the premiership is not gonna go to WHL right now so does RedHat go abroad or dip into the Championship or what?
but if we're still not in any position to attract players come January, we'll probably be fucked either way.
four or 5 wins between now and Boxing day would certainly improve the prospects
I mean, relatively, our position is clearly atrocious, but we're only 7 points off the top half of the table with 9 games played - that leaves 11 until the transfer window open, so potentially 33 points. It's a long way from being an unassailable gap.
Blackburn, Everton, Fulham, West Ham, Newcastle, West Brom? None of them are in great form at the moment. It's mainly this Arsenal/Liverpool/City run which I'm worried about, which could certainly serve to prevent any build-up of momentum following on from today's win. We lose all of those and things could be looking dire again very quickly.
keep the faith
Ben Foster first choice 'keeper, Shay Given second (but really, anyone who can combine all 3 skills of stopping a shot, catching a cross and kicking a ball)
I think that would probably have us covered. The likes of Arshavin, Huntelaar and Veloso I shall assume are completely out of the question now, although I don't really think any of them are that necessary, assuming we make signings along the lines of the ones I've suggested. I still think we have an incredibly strong squad - stronger than last year's, no question in my mind - and it's only a matter of filling in the odd gap.
and bring James, Diarra, Defoe and errrr Campbell ... how would you feel about that?
I don't like it when managers just raid their former clubs. Show a bit of creativity. I do think they're all quite likely signings though, barring the obvious, James probably being the most so out of the three.
Bale is a left-back though.
The vast majority of his games have been under Ramos - before that, he was mostly injured. I think he's certainly a better left-back than he is a winger, i.e. quite a good one, and should develop into a great one. He might display some defensive naivety now and then, but the guy's still only 19. His positioning is generally pretty good, his tackling is perfectly adequate, and while he's looked a bit out of his depth of late, which Spurs player hasn't?
with O'Hara on the left. At the moment, I don't see Gio fitting in at all. He started off okay, but these last few matches, he's looked insipid to say the least. One for the future, I think.
That said, if he were to live up to the potential he showed early on, I think he'd fit best cutting in from the right in a 4-3-3, with Lennon doing likewise from the left and Pavlyuchenko leading the line. That would leave (on the basis of who are our best players) a midfield of Jenas, Bentley and Modric, which is lightweight to say the least, but fuck it - life's for living.
was very, very different to the one I've had since he signed. The guy's a flapper and I didn't want him anywhere near my club, but once a player's signed, you've got to be as optimistic about them as possible. I still think he's better than Robinson, mind.
Good time to play Man City, bad time to play Spurs. Still time for us to fuck it all up though.
Only N'Zogbia left to go now. Got to love Harry :D
you were a total mess till he came along. and you are in a relegation battle so forget about the big time for now.
Letters wont do anything
You need to get yourself down to Portsmouth and launch a kidnap/ escape attempt like Arnold Schwarzenegger in that film where his daughter gets kidnapped and he kills this black guy and tells the air stewardess not to wake him cos he's "dead tired".
i don't like him. pipsqueak.
i had an okay fantasy week. about 60 points. i'm putting money on it this year and a friend got about 40 points for robinho as captain, the rest of his side was awful and he still beat me.
honestly, over the past few weeks i've been anxious watching him. I almost want him to keep his head down and play averagely, but he continues bringing out incredible performances and he's almost certain to go in january. a shame, as I honestly believe staying at leeds would be best for him, or at the very least moving up only one tier [not going to happen]
A big four move would destroy him. somewhere like hull or west brom would be perfect.
http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/leeds%2Bunited/video/x76t89_251008-leeds-united-v-wallsall-30_sport - just look at him around the 2.50 mark. and then his goals later on.
championship sounds like a decent league at the moment, but i've seen next to nothing of it since we got relegated.
Please come back
and all AFCB fans.
to the very letter
he's a liability. Dunne hit his peak a while back and then started a near vertical descent in the opposite direction. But unless he leaves you can't see him being dropped any time soon, what with his captainly status and all that
Diarra would be a great signing - he could be one bone in the spine of our team. Because that's our problem at the moment, a bunch of peripheral players with nothing holding them together. Forward, centre mid, centre back, goalie - we need extremely strong players in all these positions come January or else we are fucked
I might have a cheeky gamble tonight as well. I was this close to putting a tenner on a 3-0 Arse win last night at 15/1, would've been a nice little earner. I can't see the odds for a Blackburn/Pool doubler being very worthwhile though, might have to chuck in a few other maybes
