On the BBC right now.
I asked my parents where babies came from, probably trying to be kind of a pistol, knowing that that question is supposed to make parents uncomfortable, but it didn't. They just sat me down and gave me a very calm, cheerful, matter-of-fact talk. Actually, it was probably one of their finer moments of parenting.
Anyway, I was fine. But I was sort of a precocious, considerate kid. I think most kids probably shouldn't be taught until like maybe 9 or 10? I think by 5th grade for sure. Maybe not before, but still, before wouldn't be so bad.
I think my class did get the talk in fifth grade. There was a video. I was thinking it was all about just puberty, but there was a reproduction video too. But then we didn't get the full on sex talk until like 8th grade. Anyway, yeah, 5th grade for the basic talk was fine. And I don't think a bit sooner would really do damage.
nor given an ounce of sex education until I was 14
And I grew up fine
I've got a tea set and everything
