If you have a job interview with a clothing company...
who also have a very defined set of beliefs on environment, recycling, quality, consumerism etc, is it a good idea to wear their clothes to the interview (if you have them already of course), or would that come across as being desperate/sucking up/obvious?
I've go wearing a loin cloth you made yourself.....
and a bin liner. A recycled(used) bin liner at that.
depends on the company and the position you're applying for
as well as whether you're being interviewed by an independent HR company or not
though generally I'd say it would be a positive in providing a visual aid to any questions you might be asked about the company, their policies and products and your desire to work there as well as showing that you are of the type that would fit in with the company image
It's a smallish company
so I'm being interviewed by people directly from the company, and then going out with them and the other candidates one other night.
Cool, thanks. I wasn't sure how it'd come across, seems like a better idea than I'd thought.
well, given the situation you describe
it sounds like the most important thing is that you convince them that you are 'one of them'
good luck!
Ha, that is a bit of a decision.
I think in that situation I'd probably not wear the clothes - not that I think that's necessarily the best course of action, just what my neurotic thought process would be. I think I'd spend the whole time worrying about whether they thought I was brown-nosing, whereas with regular clothes it takes the issue off the table. I have enough trouble marshalling my thoughts in an interview without adding another thing into the mix.
