other than calling the inspector a cunt. ive got that one down already.
£50 fine for travelling on a train 2 hours later than i was supposed to. with the original cost being £3.95.
the train was pretty much empty, and it was in the fucking middle of the day
and if they dont change it i just wont pay
i was half asleep when he checked my ticket so forgot to hide the one that had the time restriction on it. my mate sitting next to me got away with it
if i hadnt had been asleep before he woke me up i would have sorted this out
apologise profusely and look as though you're about to burst into tears.
This has let me off so many things in the past, including some pretty serious shit.
Try it and see.
most awfully, awfully sorry. I have really been rather on edge recently."
us guys don't get away with anything.
the other day an inspector asked me for a ticket, which i didnt have, and i just said "it's in my bag" and he walked off
"These are not the droids you are looking for"
I've left two fines unpaid and never heard from the train companies again. If you were on the wrong train, there is pretty much fuck all you can say to get out of the fine though.
they never chased me for it. it was only a tenner tho
I pleaded ignorance and said I had no idea my ticket was time restricted. They let me go. THEN I complained about the "treatment" and got a free weeks rail pass. Go figure.
and they said it'd be fine, although 'they were quite rushed with a busy platform' or something. And say you had a ticket but they didn't take the cost of that ticket off the fine, thus treating you worse than someone who dodged the fare completely.
This helped me avoid a £150 fine in march this year
Some pensioner was in the papers the other day for the same thing after being told it was OK to travel on a different train. They train companies might be a bit more sensitive to this kind of criticism right now.
