A respected broadsheet always asks politely, not like those young upstarts at the Indie. Grrrr.
Put me down as a half.

Either way I've spent all of my life in London and all of my family are from here or around here going back generations. Its my home.
I'm a jack bastard.

No, their typical habitat is large freshwater areas.
Born in south Essex, raised in Hertfordshire, spent a decade in Newcastle then got seduced by the sparkly lights of London.

also people who don't know where Crawley is (to which I say Gatwick) often say "oh, London", which it isn't. However you can understand why people are confused as:
wiki - "Gatwick Airport is London's second largest airport terms of international passengers). Gatwick is located in Crawley, West Sussex (originally Charlwood, Surrey) 5 km (3 miles) north of the town centre, 46 km (29 miles) south of central London"
I just bored myself, sorry.
Lived in Hendon then Kensal Green 'til I was 5, then moved to Watford (which, contrary to the opinion of most 'outsiders' ain't London). And now I'm in Eastcote, which is kinda London, but not really.
It's near the border with Hertfordshire, and doesn't feel like London very much.
