this has been pretty much the worst day ever.
How was your day? what are you doing tonight?
i can confirm this is true
that sounds good.
oh super stressful girlfriend stuff. maybe i'll save that for a mega emo thread when i've finished these beers.
i worked 10 hours today and am working tomorrow so i'm resting tonight
what you just did
just havin a beer or two and making some kind of DJ mix, well I just made a mix but it was a bit shit, so I'm mostly sticking to the beer for now.
I had to make a choice between that and pineapple express the other day and it lost that time around.
I've lost some work somewhere between the time I had my computer upgraded and started transfering stuff about, so that's put me in a rubbish mood. I'm now listening to some music that nearly made me throw up.
it's taking ages to upload, tag and bag them
but seeing as the person I'm supposed to be going out with this evening is 2 hours late then I guess it doesn't matter so much that it's taking so long
she fell asleep at her bloody parents house
I told her not to bother getting the train back into town
question is... should I drink this bottle of champagne on my own? save it? or find someone else to share it with?
mixed till lunch then sat and burned cds till now ! wooooooo 3 to go thou.
spoke to some old friends in autralia thou and now im watching Money Talks :D
Got up 5. Had a shower. Made a sandwich around 6:30. Had the most retarded argument ever (which I won, obvs). Trudged off to the computer room. Shall see in my birthday with some pasta and a bottle of whisky.
whats ur ripe old age? and i hope its good whiskey.
It was my present to myself. I shall be 21.
you know what happens to a random guy sitting with a bottle of whiskey in halls thou? He makes friends quick ;P
is blistered to at least double the usual size.
It hurts so much I keep throwing up.
I'm really tired but if I take it out of water for a moment it becomes unbearable.
I don't have any pain relief tablets.
on the inside of the fireplace. Amazingly enough, it was really, really hot.
I swear burns aren't supposed to hurt this much....
You want to come to Bristol next weekend for my birthday?
and will be 'working'. Sorry.
Do you have paracetamol? That might tempt me. I'm considering wrapping my hand in ice and walking 45 minutes to the nearest open shop. Although maybe not. It's kinda cold out, and I'm feeling dizzy now too.
Have any exciting plans for tomorrow?
But the guy brought the wrong one, and said he'd come back and didn't. They gave me a lot of vouchers, but I was still pretty pissed off at that.
is it tingling?
Just regular burn pain.
you should get it seen to. If not tonight, asap tomorrow
Is there any pus coming out of the blisters?
Cos that would indicate higher degree burns
You should probably go to the hospital so they can anesthatise and dress your hand
And the swelling is going down quite a bit. I consulted the internet and it said I'm fine just to keep it under pouring cold water. I guess that means I'm sleeping in the bathroom tonight though.
"Make sure that burn victims get emergency medical help if experiencing any of the following:
dizziness or confusion
fever or chills
cold sweats "
I get sick after stubbing my toe sometimes.
Well, Ice water would be a bit better.
Burns basically demage periphral nerves, and give a really high stimulus, making the nerves keep sending messages to the CNS, which are translated as "pain". This sets in motion the actions needed to repair the wound/ burn. To stop feeling the pain you need to desensitize the nerves that are damamged and the surrounding ones. This can be done by coldness (its better with ice, as the water gets gradually colder), or pressure (bandaging tight - but only a medical perosn should do this). There are creams that work on the same concenpt of cooling/ desensitixing the damaged nerves.
Oh yeah, REALISING where the pain is from helps as well.
I know it sounds stupid, but actually telling your brain you understand the environmental change and its consequent damage, numbs the nervous transmission to areas of pain detection. Its like conciouscly telling someone to stop waking you up, cos your already up, but just lying in bed.
because the body has internal mechanisms that set into action straight after any intiital response. I.e there are some white blood cells that go and chemically tag affected areas as soon as the initial stimulus is felt. After this the repairal mechanisms can assess how bad the dmamage is and start repairing. Bascially the area is localised internally.
It still hurts, the sensory siren producing pain, because the sensory roots have to be so sensisitve. Its kind of like a smoke alarm thats really sesnsisitve, and goes off when youre cooking - and you physicall need to go yourself to switch it off. When it really is serious i.e. there is a "fire" and this has been detected, the residual smoke is sttill keeping the alarm active, even though you have assesed, relaised and are begin to figh teh "fire". You would still want to shut the danm alarm off because its bloody noisy and annoying.
are you studying to become a doctor?
I noticed the other day you posted about being excited about cutting up bodies and now this heheh...
Hope you start feeling better soon.
went to manchester uni open day and thats quite nice
and got a new coat after, so a good day for me
