so did patrick wolf
Where did everyone else go?
I went to Willington (now Churchill). Not such a nice place... It's a miracle I turned out well adjusted.
i thought patrick wolf was a gen-u-wine 100% cockerney boy meself cor blimey
that's a lie
all your idols' dads' are millionaires
go - on
yeah you do
i'd have expected patrick wolf to have gone to public school. and, well, jamie t is just shit.
that's ta fact
why is everyone saying', well,' all the time now? It makes you look shit.
does the fact that someone went to private school matter in and of itself?
with his clothes, cultural references and accent
that makes him fake right?
i like him though
his band is better:
i'm proper rough me
it wasn't that bad really
He went to Reed's School which is in Cobham, Surrey.
I know because I went there too. It really isn't very posh at all by the standards of public schools, absolutely loads of kids on foundation scholarships and more new money than old.
It's hardly Radley or Harrow.
Teh Radio Headz went to the distinctly posher Abingdon School.
anyone's ever tried to claim Radiohead as working class heroes.
Besides, Jamie T's never made any secret of his middle class origins - I think he even talked about it in an interview on this very site.
this is the first time possibly this year that Jamie T has been brought to my mind. It's a strange time to suddenly have the scales fall from your eyes.
Some of the class obsession on here is LOLsome especially when you consider that this is a niche music website frequented by a mainly middle class demographic* who like music made by mainly middle class people.
*I've like totally done a survey and stuff, turns out you all dream of muddy labradors, battered Volvo estates, organic vegetable boxes and Aga cookers.
Bonus points for any mention of:
The Miners Strike
The School of Hard Knocks/University of Life
Loaves of Mighty White
I was surprised to see '08 there.
middle class london teenager to affect a 'street' accent, and won't be the last. His music is quite dull though.
I saw Jamie T once
He is very short
He is short.
