FAO: TEAM FA TROPHY RUN
So, tomorrow we hit Leyton. I'm far too excited. Anyway. Here's a sort-of plan.
Due to the Victoria line being closed, those of a tube-minded bent might want to think about the Central Line to Leyton. The other option (and the one I'll be taking) is the 15-minute overland to Walthamstow Central overground station from Liverpool Street.
What I propose, due to these two options, is a pub that is about halfway between both stations, and a ten-minute or so walk to Leyton's ground. This pub happens to be a Wetherspoons (I know, I know, but seriously, all the other options are about 2.2 on beerintheevening, and look slightly dodgy).
So, if going to Leyton station, exit left and walk up Leyton High Rd to the corner of Lea Bridge Road. If going to Walthamstow, exit right, wander down Hoe St/Station Approach which then turns into the same High Street, and go to the corner of Lea Bridge Road. There should be the pub, called The Drum.
12pm, in there. It still looks rough, but it's the best of a very bad bunch. And the Leyton ground is on Lea Bridge Road, so it's a straight walk after a couple of lunchtime ales. See you there?
