I can't remember though, I would have been very young.
it wasn't!!! it says
I like it. Let's do it."
I would find out if the search function was better *wink wink*
this will be fixed next week when we turn the current site database into a much better new site database. currently it's a mess.
and the search will be powered by google.
Never tried that hard. It'll be a response to a review I imagine
you can find it rilly easily now.
I'll try once it is launched properly
can you send me a note with a screen grab plz.
and also a note if you're on windows/mac/linux and which browser your using (am guessing its windows on IE6)
it just doesn't load all the images properly. The DiS banner at the top with the log-in box won't appear.
will investigate. wondering if you ad blocker thinks the logo is an advert mebbe...
i think i may have been posting without a registered account before this tho.
my first post was also before you had to register.
ever feel like you've wasted your life?
otherwise: fuck no.
the question wasn't directly to you just a general musing on posting on DiS. I see my secong post was me proclaiming The Fall of Math to be the best album of 2004. How things change.
and spamming for a friend's band in '02, apparently
first post was?
a year before it happened. I'm surprised you didn't do the same.
and then click the magic see all posts link
a thread called "The Independent pick top 10 venues - what're yours?"
in May 05 - I'm sure I posted before that. Maybe it was under a different username.
ohhhhhhhhhhh the lols and can of worms.
i stand by every word.
but not THE first. It was arant about people hating the Darkness being lame.
This was of course before their dire second album. It was early 2005. Yeah.
telling Fullerov to get the Comets On Fire album from the Sub Pop website, I think. Can't find it though. Not really that exciting.
the warning signs are there in my first post, but my second was a JAG.
I'd been lurking for a few years prior to this I believe, but 2006? really? seems like a lifetime.
that makes far more sense
2 Great Bands
Sonic Youth most deffinatly, and also Neutral Milk Hotel

What an Indie Nerd I am though.
I read the site for a long time pefore posting though. That first post is like over 4 and a half years old! *sniffle*
other than google. What's all them link's Sean's posted. I can't work it out. I'm thick and stuff you know.
at your profile in the new site, at the bottom there's a view all posts button. Go to the last one...
It won't let me search via the starts with... text field or clicking on "m" and I'l scroll through but they'r enot in alphabetical order.
A pint for anyone to get it up.
So to speak...
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS

at some DiS gathering or another. And impressive profile pic.
Anyway, it was a rant about the darkness, then loads of plugging my band:
and link to it, but it seems my first post included the sentence "You sir, are a buffoon and that is quite possibly the most moronic comment I have ever read".
I'm not surprised.
Blood stained crap?
The man makes a good point. She'd better get munching those mince pies during her time off."
On a thread that no longer exists, in a context I cannot remember.
"Issues that people care strongly about but you couldn't really give 2 shits and a fuck about"
Jan 12th??? That cannot be right. I was lurking for a good long while before that. Hmmmmm.
www.noisefx.com. Not sure if a lot of the pedals on there work with bass, but my my they look lovely :)"
Who likes jeff buckley?
Hes amazing. I first heard him on sunday. Dream Brother is perfection. I then bought Grace yetsterday. I love it. Who else likes him?
18th Jan 05.
"and where was Tom Waits on the NME's cool list? no where near the fucking libertines of course, because he stopped doing drugs. oh and you might need a brain to appreciate him. this is probably the best gig i've ever seen. grown men were crying. worth every single penny."
except i'm sure i posted before this.
but it was Feb '04. I'm approaching my 5 year anniversary. How 'bout that
but you are noit a Jedi yet. Or something.
Haha, about 20 posts in in I'm raging at martbowski and then about another 20 in I just leave a post saying "Martbowski's a cunt" lol!
sorry 'boski, I like you now :D
more posting experience than me.
That explains 'it'.
Re: which bands deserve to make it big next year
associates should be rediscoverd
Who the fuck is Adam Masterson??
has 69 pages. I may stop posting.

RE: Saddest songs in the world
- Leonard Cohen - Famous blue raincoat &
Bob Dylan - If you see her say hello
But it's always gonna be songs you personally associate with a particularly sad moment/period in your life, innit, so for me it's 'Teenage Riot' by Sonic Youth. Every time I hear it it's like a part of me dies.
Yet it's my favourite ever song.
1075 pages of posts. ALL GOLD
was listing my favourite albums at the time.
i've yet to go through with it.
probs won't till next spring at this stage
it was as GalacticStarEruption without the 3, but the search profile thing isn't working.
It weas when someone was going on about some bloke climbing on top of a big pile of grain and then sinking into it and dying. It spooned me out for weeks.
it took you 18 months to get to 10,000 posts you told us a porky.
I had a previous account, I forgot about this when saying that.
It's like clicking on a time machine.
And it was about the Shins' Wincing The Night Away.
I guess I'm still quite new!
"Brazil versus Croatia
...Is a good excuse for starting a thread about Kaka, and how he's possibly the most lovely person in the world. Even with the haircut.
Or you could like, you know, talk about football and stuff.

There's only a few before that. And they're all from the music board. And all stupid. And mostly about music I don't like any more (save from Okkervil).
I just talked about Kaka, Roque Santa Cruz and motorsport a lot....
Okay, there's the occasional 'wtf' moment, but generally not too bad.
Re: claims to fame....?
i once let Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards into a film at the UGC in Northampton, can't remember what it was. i do know that the guy who presents Newsnight Review (his name escapes me) enjoyed Jurassic Park 3 tho.
oh, and i once bumped into Ian St. John in a lift at Wembley Stadium when watching a Schoolboy International.

i've recycled that anecdote so many times
and there's one where I described Idlewild as 'the Phil Neville of music'. I don't remember this but it made me smile.
I've really enjoyed reading through my old posts and seeing how much of a dick I am. I always knew I was a dick so I'm not bothered. My first post was in this thread:
I remember JudgeB paying me compliments for this comment.
but I reckon that is probably the funniest first post I did am ever saw
since this account was made.
if we're only counting weekdays.
I've never posted much during the weekends.
I was WACKY from Day One.
does mogwai saying something controversial on their website actually count as a news story anymore? It may be self publicity but the hacks at the NME must have the mogwai site as their homepage ready to copy and paste the latest thing that the band say. And to be honest, we are all thinking the same thing anyway...
nothing changes eh!
or are now 'old_anonymous_username'. There's definitely were some on the Hot Water Music/Leatherface review though, there was a massive argument between the leatherface old schoolers and, well, James, Tim and Me. But we were there. http://www.drownedinsound.com/event/view/138
my old username, 'usenoname' http://www.drownedinsound.com/user/view/7907
although i think i generally posted with the guest thing.
first post this time around was about an ISIS gig http://www.drownedinsound.com/event/view/23682#r2166312
An error has occurred. We've been notified of the problem and should have it fixed shortly.
My second one is much better. I fully intend to recycle it:
I think I said they were good.
as I'm just reading my old posts continuously.
Great, more DiS-Work conflict.
I remember it. But I can't be arsed (read: can't work out) how to actually check it
I can't believe i used such language, in fact im sure i wouldn't have
Oh My this is extremely rudely/obscene
obviously this was not me as you know i normally censor anything even slightly dodgey
I want it destroyed.
Who knows what torments it could possibly unleash? We don't need this.
This is easily the best thing I have heard all year. And a very good review as well.
that someone with a voice that goes so high may have no testicles. He could be one of the castrati for all we know."
I think it was about Mika.
Here's the Mars Volta one
The "two bearded men snogging" that are mentioned was my friends. Ha!
about songs in which the singer namechecks themselves. Why am I such a sucker for all that stuff? (Nobody at all mentioned Jonathan Richman in it)
Also, my first few dozen posts all seem to have been baiting Radiohead and Warp fans. Christ, that was fun.
