DiS is eight years old either today or tomorrow (i think the site actually went live on the 2nd but didn't think it was that big deal at the time so I don't really remember) but as we've got a stage at Concrete & Glass tomorrow we're having a little drinking sesh to celebrate eight years DiS.
Personally I'll be drinking for all those no longer with DiS, as this also marks the end of the horriblest behind the scenes year in our history. With a new year and new site going live at some point tomorrow (or maybe Friday morning, we've not decided) we can draw a line beneath it all and move forward.
So join us, from 5 'til 7 at Strongroom's Bar, on Curtain Road in Old St (East London) if you can. We'll be playing records* and a whole heap of our staff, old and new, should be there if you wanna moan about a review you didn't like or complain you still can't put a picture on your profile. And I'm sure if the new site is up many of you will have comments and complaints about that (but please be nice, it's a party!)
Then if you've not got a ticket for Concrete & Glass, you can get one just for our show featuring Frightened Rabbit, Bodies of Water and O' Death) but that's far from compulsory.
Anyway, I think now is about time for you all to answer two nostalgia-baiting questions:
1) When did you join DiS and how did you discover it?
2) In a This Is Your Life or Big Brother 'best bits' style, what have been you highlights since you joined?
Look forward to seeing some of you tomorrow,
