Manchester says I.
but you're a northener? and a manc?
a good 50-60% of the people I've met from there have been rude gobby cunts.
and I doubt all the southerners are in Saltford?
of a scoundrel
That southern scummy leary twat.
definitely, definitely Newcastle. The men in particular.
in that assessment
I've spent a fair bit of time in the city, and in most parts of it. The Gate was always a great place to get unprovoked shit from drunk men.
that was going to be full of tossers, I’d have gone for the Gate. I honestly have never had any problems with any one outside of that horrid place. Even the Bigg Market (and I remember it when it was busy and the only place to drink in town) has never caused me any problems.
I'm quite surprised to hear that? As a rule, I find we're pretty friendly compared to other cities. Unless you're referring to the drunken idiots rolling around the Bigg Market at 3PM, in which case that's not really representative!
The men were quite often absolute bastards to me the moment they heard that I wasn't from fucking Gateshead, regardless of time, place or drunkenness
Sorry to hear that! Some of us are alreet though! ;-D
other day some guy in a manchester top walking the opposite way just pointed at my friend and went "Queer. Poof.".
It was brilliant. He said it with the same authority you would if you just walked through the park and went "Tree. Grass. Bench."
I wouldn't even say that London was that rude. The occasional rudeness that you encounter there is tempered by the fact that you virtually never meet anyone there who actually comes from the city.
Most of the cunts are tryhards from places like Surbiton and Guildford who want to desperately deny their comfortable home counties pasts in order to reinvent themselves as 'edgy' urban sophisticates.
and it's only 100% because you can't have more than that
Actually Londonders and generally lovely (Guess where I'm from)
and been called a cunt once. Plus a Villa fan spat in my face when I was a teenager (albeit in London). This is my only basis...
Someone broke my jaw into seven pieces when I was walking down Beverly Road minding my own business at 5pm.
That wasn't exactly polite, now, was it?
someone punched him?
Some lovely lads had taken the day off work to get "tanked up" in preparation for a fight that had been arranged to take place that evening. This was with a no-doubt equally lovely bunch of Kosovans with whom the Hull-ites had got into an argument the previous day. At 5pm I was walking back to my mate's house and looking forward to his party when my paths crossed with "the boys". Despite following usual blokey protocol for these situations (eyes down, hunch coat, adopt slight swagger) one of them decided to have a practice swing on me.
Unfortunately I break easily <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osteogenesis_imperfecta>
and thus a few nights in Hull Royal Infirmary, where I have to say everyone was very polite, to return to the original subject of this thread. So Hull probably doesn't deserve this title after all, despite the above story.
Here endeth the lesson.
(and im a southerner)
so your standards were set pretty low.
Southsea was/is lovely
some people like Westlife.
each time i've been nearly assaulted or harassed in some way for doing nothing- minding my business, trying to catch a bus etc. everyone's got a swagger.
hope i never have to return
stared at for no reason, people leaning out of cars to shout abuse at you, the scouse wit- i.e taking the piss.
it's 80% twats in my experience.
are you sure you're not just paranoid? Scousers are generally a friendly bunch.
Are you from Cirencester?
I've never experienced such sustained verbally and physical abuse in anywhere in all my life.
I hate the place.
In fact I think we might be the same person.
I'll bring Zelda along to TANP
I want names and places, and then I’ll pull some strings and get them to turn their frown upside down.
get people asking you for money? Not tramps but ordinary people?
Give us 70p for the bus
Fuck off you curly haired southern cunt
Was generally how it went
as someone who lived not too far from either city for 19 of my 23 years, those are the rudest
generally just seems a masculine agressive place all round. Presumably just a minority though.
Apart from that, Nottingham is a bit of a tough place and I think people who live in London are generally polite and friendly.
manchester's always been the friendliest city in the world when i've visited. people talking to each other on buses, despite not knowing each other, people helping other people out. such a nice city.
or possibly Fuckchester.
