is an interesting time, a mixture of shock and grief, with some anger and embarrassment thrown in as well. Once they have been hit, if capable, the cat will try to be on its own to die. It will hide under a bush, or a house and spend its last few minutes having a clean, or simply breathing very heavily. Sometimes I myself feel like a cat who has been run over, but I don't hide under a house.
