Anyone planning on seeing anything this year? Any tips? I saw some gems last year.
but I probably won't see it at the LFF.
but i love going to their mystery screenings, it's really exciting! :)
and it was No Country For Old Men, about 3 months before it came out so he avoided all the hype.
this reminds me that i need to get on this.
but haven't really looked at the programme properly yet.
another film with me as their target audience! Yay :)
oh well, maybe it'll be out in America!
went to the Portobello film festival
We walked into a massive hall dominated by some kids crowded round a car playing really loud offensive booty bass music.
We were ushered into a small cinema type space at the back where we watched 3 short films projected from a DVD player, booty bass still audible from inside.
1) - well done tale about young mother going off the rails at the same time as her depressed elderly father
2) Shit self-indulgent copy/paste couple-splitting-up saga based around the metaphor of a shared flat - both protagonists were so dull and amdram you couldn't feel anything for either of them.
3)"TUMBLEWEED LONDON" - 1 bad idea rehashed and shitly shot. The least thoughtful project ever presented in such an "aaaah thioiinkabout it!" way
Will this be better? It probably will be won't it?
I don't think it was one of those three.
Nah, I only see real films. Real films contain one or more of the following:
3) Average cut rate of less than two seconds.
4) Jason Statham.
for Gonzo, W., Franklyn, and The Market. I reckon Goodbye Solo and The Class will be worth seeing too. Anvil! is really good.
