This is following on from a thread on the music board which made reference to people whipping out acoustic guitars and potentially boring people to death during house parties.

What's the least fun/party-ish thing anyone's ever done at a house party you've been at?

A couple of years back I went to one where one of the people who lived there was a Lebanese film-maker. He'd made some amazing Lebanese food, which was great.

Less great was when someone told him to show one of his films.

So we all gathered round and watched this heart-wrenching 15 minute documentary he'd made about the Israel-Palestine conflict and it's affect on olive farming, including footage of a traumatised Palestinian family weeping and wailing as Israeli soliders commandeered their olive tree.

Good film-making? Probably, yes. Ideal Saturday night entertainment when you want to relax and have fun? Clearly no.

There were two subsequent documentaries but I managed to escape to an upstairs room...
