anyone ever been?
I've only ever been to tycross zoo, I guess it's better than that
would be my assessment.
i'd pay £12 or whatever it is just to see the OWLS.
lot less monkeys but a lot bigger overall. Good way to spend a few hours
"the worlds greatest zoo"
Is it the Giraffes? I can't remember. My friend is a zookeeper there and she mentioned it recently.
no, the giraffes are still there.
I've not been for a while but I remember when they started getting rid of most of the large animals from Bristol Zoo 'cos it was deemed cruel to keep 'em in captivity.
Damned humane treatment of animals!
seven years ago...
they didn't have some of their animals on display. I'm not sure what happens to them when they're not on display. I shudder to think.
that some bunch of ogling idiots aren't shouting and screaming at them to 'do something' after the spectacular show of them eating is unfortunately over and they've resorted to pacing back and forwards in their recreated 'natural environment'
I thought it might be something bad.
Everyone knows that.
They can either spend their life in the "real world" , having to struggle for food, find shelter and potentially in threat of predators or live in an environment where they're safe, get food and shelter given to 'em for nowt and everybody likes to see them.
How could they not like it?
I think Chunty's been watching too much evil left-wing propaganada like Free Willie.
walking off the highstreet in central london and into a zoo.
its not as small as i imagined but nothing compared to the said wipsnade or the like.
no lions or stuff; but if you like ants and penguins - go for it
slow lorises. slow lorii? now THAT is an animal that I'd like to smuggle out of the zoo under my coat, and keep it in my attic with all the other Things.
If I had a slow loris I would want to keep its eyes inside it's head. I'd imagine that those eyes would be a lot less cute outside the animal's skull devoid of blood flow.
You might crush the butterflies accidentally though, like Jonny 5. no reassemble butterfly stephanie!
but am hoping that this will be rectified soon. it probably won't though.
and can confirm there are 2 Lions and the Giraffes are still there. Alan the Tiger appears to have gone though.
fair enough. must have been hiding as i have no recolection of them.
do remember the butterfly tunnel though, yet another highlight....
Bill Oddie was getting excited about some lizards that had reproduced via parthenogenisis.
Also, good pygmy hippos.
and loved it.
you can pick up 2-for-1 vouchers at most underground stations so it works out at about £7 each i think.
No elephants which is a bummer but the otters make up for that.
